View from our villa
It's been a long day of travel for many in the group, but the day is finally here for us all to converge in Florence!  The view was stunning taking off this morning.  Green hills poked through the fog of the San Francisco Bay Area, home to Handbell Ventures and many of the Campanae Mundi ringers.  The view was so breathtaking that (in combination with a 7am departure and distinct lack of morning-person-ness or its delicious substitute, coffee), I didn't even think to get out a camera.  Three flights and 22 hours later I made a point to snap some photos as we flew into Tuscany.  After all, this is the view some of us have been counting down to since the March 2009 trip!

Our first rehearsal in Italy
We met up at our beautiful villa in Grassina and got a quick tour of all our rooms, the kitchen, and our rehearsal room, all surrounding a beautiful courtyard.  There is also a pool, an office (wifi!) and gorgeous views all round.  After a few minutes to enjoy our new surroundings it was back into the rehearsal room for our first run through the pieces we'll be performing.  We sure hit the ground running!

Now, if you don't mind, I'm off to find an espresso.
